Adam Ensign established Insignia Cultural Endeavors as an outgrowth of a dedication to improving lives through his linguistic expertise and cultural acuity. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in Biblical research from Central Christian College of the Bible, he went on to study Chinese in Beijing. While living in that city for the better part of two decades, he earned his master’s degree in applied linguistics from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Peking University and taught at Beijing Language and Culture University and Renmin University. He has designed various courses, including on Chinese culture and ancient Near Eastern civilization, for Chinese university students and presented on a range of historical and cultural topics to diplomats, entrepreneurs, journalists, and scholars.
Fluent in Mandarin, he was employed part-time as a translator and editor by the Palace Museum for over nine years, during which he cultivated expertise on the history of the Forbidden City and its vast collection of Chinese art as well as the operations of Chinese museums and related institutions. Having visited every major administrative district in mainland China, including Tibet and Xinjiang, he has also spent significant time as a volunteer in Taiwan, conducted extensive research on the Manchu Bible in Japan, studied traditional yoga practices in India, learned about intercultural engagement from missionaries in Hong Kong, and explored French language and culture in France and its Caribbean departments. In addition to specializing in Chinese languages, cultures, and arts, his experiences have given him unique insights into countless issues related to China’s domestic policies, geopolitical affairs, international relations, and religious trends. With this background, he now offers consultation, education, and translation services to aid clients in personal enrichment, diplomatic success, business development, and academic research.
